Little Master
Posted April 28, 2008 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Hey everyone. I've been quite busy lately and haven't really worked on Little Master in quite some time. It may seem surprising, but I have a life... :)

Little Master is a very fun game, but I can't see me ever having time to finish it. If someone comes along who wishes to finish the hacking aspect, most of the translation is finished. I will help as much as possible to get this thing done.

Let me know - burdanie18 at bluebottle.com.

I would like to thanks all the people who have emailed me trying to encourage me to finish the translation of Little Master 3. I am re-coding the editor so that it will include use of a database to track changes. I figure this way- it will be easier if we find someone who wishes to translate the game into other languages. Also, I will be including a way to easily include "smashed text" in cases where there isn't enough room for the text and the DTE doesnt work. (mainly in cases of the item, enemy, and character names and descriptions.) Thus allowing for a more accurate translation. Thanks, and hopefully I will be updating everyone very soon.

I am working on LM3
Posted January 16, 2007 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Sooo... Y'all almost lost me for a bit there. After a few months of nothing happening at all... I'm working on LM3 again. I seem to remember getting frustrated a few months back after losing quite a bit of work to a brain lapse.
What happened was, I had just spent an entire day working on LM3... I had a hex editor window open that I hadn't used since I started that day... This particular hex editor doesn't remind you that a file has changed, so I unwittingly saved over everything I had done. I was devastated to say the least. Wonderful, right?
Well, I'm back and working on LM3 in my spare time. I changed jobs, and what appeared to be a part-time IT assistant job has turned into full-time head IT guy position. Anyone know much about the AS/400? I'm supposed to be an expert... but I first heard of them 3 months ago! ;)

Little Master HO!!

It's been a while... Sorry bout that. I've been moving/settling in to my new place for the last little bit. I'm happy to say that I'm finally ready to resume work on LM3... very soon... maybe. If I get some free time, you'll see more progress news soon.

Bye bye.

I'm back?

Yes, I am working on it again, and quite frequently actually. I bought a laptop (it's not very good) specifically for my editing needs. I can't tell you why I stopped, but let's just say there were "problems" and leave it at that. =D

Anyway, I was doing some thinking and and I thought, "It wouldn't be a fun experience by just changing the text into a funny schpiel...so I decided to make the game worth while and edit the majority of the monsters as well as the bosses. How many have played FF3 multiple times..ok I'm guilty. It'd be kinda dumb same old monsters, no new challenges...so why not make one! It's in my power! Er, um yes..

I've also decided to add in new monsters too to so the fun doesn't end. I have started that yet though, and I imaging it's going to make the game bigger.. well I'll figure stuff out later..not even gonna do that, just spitting out my ideas before I forget them..

Download the first release here: uhh... here.

I've just about finished putting the finishing touches on my Windows XP Ownership tool! I know, I know... not the news you've been waiting for... I'm not dead, right? What more could you ask for?

Well- no news other than that. I got a call from my Dad and he's the one that got me working on my ownership tool.

What was done to the tool:
1. I FIXED IT.
2. IT WORKS NOW.
3. Swapped registry keys changed by the tool.
4. Improved .INI parsing. (Not perfect but basically works.)
5. Added Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder. (Lets you change XP Product keys.)
6. Error checking might actually help now.
7. Commented Source code.

Download it... Once I upload it... Here.

i'm releasing the source code and the final binary for menukit.
this will help you if you've ever wanted to understand global hotkeys.
if you are expecting my source code to be heavily commented, you will be dissapointed. i might go through later and comment everything.

below is a link to the executable and source code all in one zip file:
source code is in VB.NET (Visual Basic.NET) 2005 format.

has anyone here used objectbar from stardock? to me, it was the most annoying thing i have ever seen or used. the interface looks like crap and it is too complicated for anyone to want to use. i guess i'm too dumb to figure it out. if you want something simple, you can use the menukit i've made. I find it very simple. i've designed it to be convenient, compact, and not annoying. it doesnt take over your desktop. it doesnt replace any function of windows. it just adds some of your most used applications to a pop-up dock. you can customize anything from button width to background pictures to roll-over colors. everything is set up with a right-click menu that allows you to access application and button settings. try it. i'm releasing the next version today.

heey. i had a couple people ask me recently if i was still working on little master 3. the answer is yes. although it is true that sometimes i take rather long breaks in between working sessions. a week to a month to be exact... anyway. i have a bit to finish before i'll feel comfortable releasing the game. i'll post some newer screenshots soon. g'day.

fun stuff- did you know that menukit can be used as a frontend for emulators and other apps... you may bave to use batch files- but i think it's possible.

anyway- new version. here is the readme:

=============
=MenuKit v1.5.0=
=============
Coded and Released July 13, 2006
Original Released July 10, 2006
Made by DackR of http://sstrans.emuxhaven.net

========================================
I made this because I've been wanting to have a nice
alternative to the quick launch menu in windows for some
time now. I've used all kinds of Docks that mimic the functions
of the Mac OSX dock- but none of them really feel *right*...
This program was the result of programming every few hours
and playing Clock Tower 3 in between sessions.
========================================

========
NOTE
========
There is now support for editing button pictures, links,
and descriptions from within the program. Error checking of
sorts has also been implemented. This version only took a couple
hours to finish up.

==================
Features in next version
==================
Support for global shortcut keys!

aww boy. july slams upon us once more. a year ago today i was at the warped tour listening to my favorite bands play. how time does fly. i have also been married for about seven months now. woah. cool.

i coded up my usual batch of happiness today. usual in the way of a new app. it's called MenuKit. oops. i guess that needs to be in caps.

this new app is kinda like a multi-app launcher. i made it because the quick launch bar can get annoying and every other dock i've used sucks horribly and can easily get in the way.

i believe MenuKit does not suck horribly nor does it get in the way. it just stays tucked away in the top-left corner of the screen and comes out when needed.

it was made quickly and still lacks a few features, so try it out if you'd like and make sure to let me know if you like it. if anyone likes it, i may continue to update it.

Okay, good news.I've got a lot done recently on Little Master, and there's just a bit more to finish up.
In my spare time I've coded a program that modifies system information or system properties in Windows XP. This is helpful if your computer has transferred ownership or if you want to get rid of the computer manufacturers logo in lieu of your own.
Here it is with included source code(VB.NET):

Oh... almost forgot. I made a tutorial for creating your own animations using VB.NET. This one has pretty good comments, I think. Also includes source:

ever use a mac?
Posted May 30, 2006 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Well then... I've finally gone and done it... I've purchased my first mac computer. I bought a mac mini last saturday and so far, I love my little apple-wapple. (Uh... thats not what I would normally say...) In past years I scoffed at apple for being so... different. I've changed my opinion.

I believe the macintosh computer to be the best out there. Expensive- maybe... compared to a normal PC, yes... but for everything you get with it, no. The Mac OS X comes with more than enough software to keep anyone happy. What's more, it's made for your new and shiny mac computer so you will rarely have any problems.

The apple even comes with programming utilities! Yes... Anyone interested in learning how should try it on a mac. For some reason it just feels better.

If anyone isn't convinced and is determined to hold onto their beloved PC with an icy death grip, I'm afraid you may install windows on your mac computer now. Apple recently released something called boot camp- a way to run windows on an intel-based mac without a hitch. It seems to run windows better than a normal PC. I like it because most programs I've coded in the past were for windows.

I will likely continue to develop software for Windows soley because I realize how many of you are unlucky enough to be limited to a PC. I will try to develop software for mac in the future as well...

Going to mac is not an easy transition, but it is worth it. It will take lots of time for even an experienced user of a PC, but if you switch, you will never regret it.

Dude! 50,000! Thats neat...
Well- I've been playing around with the idea of translating the game "Melfand Stories" by Ascii. I've found the location of all the script. I'm not quite finished with the Japanese Table file. (Lazy) Oh, my birthday is tomorrow. (22) I have to work, so it wont be quite the same as previous years. I hope to finish Little Master 3's translation before the end of June. But this is not a promise, as I've tried to set completion dates in the past and failed miserably as many may have noticed. If you wish to see the game translated, just try encouraging me via e-mail or on the forum. I will be very grateful for the support.

OK- More like the rest of the month off... Not that anyone really cares as long as this game gets translated, but I finished coding the script editor for Little Master 3 today. (YAY!) I've been procrastinating the creation of such a thing for a while now. The actual coding only took two days. (No, not all day.) With this out of the way, it'll speed things up. A lot.

welcome to this week's edition of translating and you...BTW...you roxxors...like...other hack rommers have a big higher attention span than me...cause me just stares off after while and hasses to stoppes...boring it gets the annoying it feels...redundant...haxor the rom can fun it is...others it is fun can help it enjoys...

Uhh... nevermind... I think that came out wrong. Half is just strange and the other half is weird literal japanese-ish "garbeled fud".

Wow... that's a lot of people. Just about 34 people a day since we opened. Not bad.
Little Master 3 news:
I've finished inserting the terrain descriptions(I know, been avoiding it) and I'm in the process of editing the script so it can be inserted. As far as I can tell, I have all the script translated and the only things that haven't been translated are the Unit descriptions and the act descriptions(at least not all of them). If anyone is willing to translate them quickly for me, just e-mail me at my usual e-mail address. Otherwise, It will likely take me some time to getting around to it.
This translation business has taken more time than I expected(years). It's a lot for one person to do.

smells like an update

Hey, been really busy this week. No time to ROM hack... although I have been programming a lot. I've been taking some time to brush up on a few of the newer programming languages out there. Especially .NET (Visual Studio 2005) stuff. It's going just fine. I've converted most of my Little Master 3 Editor over to VB.NET and it runs better than ever (looks good too). For those of you who are still fans of VB 6.0 I've decided to release what I have done with the editor in that source and later, when the editor is fully done, I'll release the VB.NET sources. These could be of use to anyone who is trying to understand SNES/Etc. graphics formats. I believe I have notes in the source about only 2BPP Planar and Composite with special instructions for assembling the LM3 font on the screen.

Click here for the sample tile.
I suppose other games use this method to store graphics/fonts as well. This may be helpful to anyone interested in SNES graphics formats.

I've been working on Terrain descriptions today. Eien Ni Hen translated them a couple years ago, but for whatever reason they aren't in the correct order -_-'... So, I've been retranslating them, using Eien Ni Hen's translation where possible. I am almost finished! Only 5 more pages to go out of 15 total pages. (MS Word pages.) Which amounts to about a 10 KB japanese text dump. Not bad... Well, here goes!

Here's a screenshot!

:::UPDATE (8:10PM EST):::
I've finished with the terrain descriptions! If anyone wants to critique my work, I encourage it! Grab the translated file here: LM3 Terrain Descriptions.

So... I finished translating/inserting weapons/armor today... that took about an hour.
I'm currently playing through the game to find misc pieces of non-story items to translate. Little Master Edit is almost ready for the world to see... realizing that my early screenshots of its development are no longer posted, here they are (thumbnailed):

I'm eating a pizza
Posted March 22, 2006 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Thats right... I AM eating a pizza! I've also resumed the insertion of the main script. There was a break and I did nothing with Little Master last week because Bongo` and I were adding the new DTE routine. Bongo` did all the Assembly programming of course.

I finished the re-translation of the first few scenes of the game... more than just a simple script edit was needed. That went well... Now I should be able to finish the rest of the script insertion easily. EASILY means that I'll probably get bored... I hope the insertion goes quick.

Progress is Progress is Progress
Posted March 21, 2006 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Bongo` from Stealth Translations has helped me once again with the Little Master 3 translation. This last week we corresponded over email concerning a new DTE routine that would allow me to add more DTE tables to Little Master 3.

As of yesterday the programming is complete, and the new routine inserted. It runs very nicely... and just a few minutes ago I finished modifying my "Little Master Edit" Program to conform to the changes in the ROM. Everything is working thanks to Bongo`!

I hope to release a public beta within the next few weeks.
Keep an eye on this space for updates.

The Momo Costume!
Posted March 14, 2006 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Wow... this is sweet! I forgot about this until just recently, actually. Ok, y'know how when Tam gets hit she changes forms, right? (nod your head yes) Ok, it's been a while since I've seen this form in the game, but Tam's most powerful form is sweet! She wears a costume that looks like Momo and some of her attacks mimic his. I recently re-translated the description/weapon/armor for this unit. Not all of it fit, but if it could, it would read:

"Tam's most powerful form is this Momo Costume. It has a destructive power to match the mighty Minotaur. It's Enourmous!"

Here's a picture:

Interest in Little Master
Posted March 6, 2006 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
I have recently discovered a great amount of interest in the Little Master 3 translation. It's awesome! Honestly- I've gotten more done in the last couple months than I have in years and its all because of the Little Master fans out there. I recently read a French Review of our translation here. I was pleased to find that the author wished to see the translation finished. Things like this keep me going...

We are making steady progress. I just recieved more of the script from Chris. I've been making steady progress getting the script inserted to the game. I'll be sending a new beta to the Beta testers soon... Here is a picture of a cartridge I made for Little Master 3... The original Japanese cartridge is on top and my American-ized version on bottom. If you like it, I may post the label image on the site.

I was looking through some backup CDs I made back in 2003 and guess what I found... I found my work on Doraemon 4! ^_^ Now I can continue working on that when I'm bored with LM3... I know it's been translated before... but there are some things that were incomplete about SGT Bowhack's translation. I guess I will attempt to fix them. We'll see!

Ok- just so ya know- I'd be willing to bet that Spatch will never finish SBF3. It's a shame- it was looking good... I've done the honors and removed it from the site. I may be willing to finish re-doing the Doraemon 4 translation at some point; even if it means that I have to figure everything out once again... lol!
Well- have a good one!

Interesting News
Posted February 23, 2006 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Hey, I've been really busy this week- even so- I've got a LOT more of LM3 translated/inserted. Chris has been busy with school and such- so I haven't heard much about the progress he is making. I, on the other hand have finished translating a ton of menus and various battle texts. I never quite got to it before because it seemed like it too way too much time. Actually- it does take a lot of time... lol... anyway- I was browsing the web for information about the first Little Master in the series and it seems that Zatos hacks started translating it back in 2001 and abandoned it in 2002. They didnt release the most updated version or I might go off that (at least the translation since the hack looked buggy.) or something. You can check out the Zatos Hacks HERE. Well- thats all for now... until next time!

Old news is good news...
Posted February 18, 2006 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
I was asked the question again so... A while back, I posted this:
---------------------------------
Hey all you psychos e-mailin me and tellin me I have HUGE bugs in the translation when I don't! Hosers.. sheesh- it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that these bugs appear in BOTH the patched and unpatched versions of Little Master! Yet-!! the problem only occurs when you download a version of Zsnes HIGHER than 1.337r106. Hmm.. perhaps someone should tell the coders of the great emulators Zsnes and Snes9x that about the time when they added support for playin' such games as Star Ocean, Street Fighter 2: Alpha, and Far East of Eden: Zero- that it broke our Little Master!!!.. an alternative to this is to just break down and download a VERSION THAT WORKS for the time being and stop whining to me! :) Any complements, encouragements, etc. are encouraged however.
----------------------------------
Same rule applies. As far as I can tell- neither emulator has to this date fixed the problem. (The problem being at the beginning of the hero's turn, the screen turns red and stays that way until your first move or until you refresh the screen by entering a menu and leaving it again.) I have no idea how to contact these people- I hope someone does. The only workaround I know of is to use the above version of zsnes to play LM3- it has no bugs on that version.

Good-ness...

New Translator!

The new translator's name is Chris Grant. He's a really neat guy, eh? Anyway- he's offered his assistance for completing Little Master 3. I've actually been working with him for about a week now to clean up the script for Little Master 3 so we could move on to finishing the blasted thing! LOL... I've been working on it since 2002, as you can see... Well there is a new page in the electronics section. I've posted schematics for the psx memory card reader which can be used with Memory Card CS. Take a look! I get excited about the geeky-est stuff sometimes... Well- have an awesome day!!

Little Master 1: Legend of Rykeban

Well then, I took a little time today to begin dumping the text from the first chapter in the Little Master saga. For those who don't know, the first and second Little Master games were for the oldskool Gameboy. They were, of course, never released anywhere but Japan. All the games in the Little Master series feature the same familiar gameplay, each getting better as the story progresses. Anyways, I spent about 2 hours making an English table and a Japanese table file for the game. I have the script dumped now and I figured out the most important control codes. Included are a couple early screenshots.

MemoryCard CS
Posted February 15, 2006 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
I've added some sub-sections to the Software/Source section. Only one of those is currently up. The MemoryCard CS section is up. Just so you know- MemoryCard CS, formally known as Memory Card Captor Sakura, has been translated by me. Just recently actually. I finally had spare time to build my Playstation Memory Card Reader and I was having a hard time finding decent software for it. I found an old poorly translated version of Memory Card Captor Sakura and tried to fix it- but I decided I would need the source code to fix the translation issue. I found the original source code at http://www.nissie.com and I began my translation. It is nearly 100% Translated and available for download.

I'm quite sure that nobody is really looking forward to the release of little master but me... but even if it s just for me and nobody else wants to play it... It will be worth it! Mwah-ha-ha! =D Well then, I've added onto my little master editor with a dictionary editor. It's quite handy. If you dot know what I'm talking about- a couple years ago, Bongo from stealth translations helped me with dictionary text encoding for LM3. 've moved some of the little master progress that was formerly only available on the main page to the little master 3 section. Y'know- It would be just great if someone else wanted to join SStrans- thats why I'm accepting applications at dackr_ss@squareshrine.cjb.net. Have a Spruppy day!

Heh... More?
Posted November 1, 2005 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Alright... Two Posts in one day!? No way!!! I'm just at school and bored because my online class is too easy... I have to wait until the teacher takes roll and I'm gonna split... Ok, so I wanted to talk about some of the things I've been working on. One of these things is posted below... And the other I haven’t really told anyone about, but it may be exciting for some of you who like to code in ASM.

I'm making a coding environment for ASM, specifically for the NES and SNES ASM side. It's basically a front end for whatever compiler you wanna use- but it supports syntax-highlighting and some other nifty things. I'm kinda running out of ideas for what to add to it... So- just send me an e-mail if you have any ideas.

Also some of the features I have added to my Little Master Editor are Unit Info modification, Terrain info modification, and a little program that finds locations of text blocks in the ROM, line breaks, etc... Yeah. I may make a save state editor for LM3 some time soon... It’s just an idea- but if people want me to- I'll figure out the code and release it- but if nobody is interested- I'll probably not. Yep... Kinda bored at school as you can tell- that’s why I'm still typing... Have an awesome day!

Remember, people!! I need some feedback! Talk to me!

Just as a short update- I'll soon be working on a second project along with Little Master. I'll release more information once I'm finished with the main graphic hacks and table files needed for translation. Which game will it be? Wait and see...

Schematics Updated
Posted August 23, 2005 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Just a small bit of news.... The Controller Schematics section has been updated slightly. I have updated the format from my old page. OLD... uh... I really just imported it and included a link for controller drivers. But... oh well... I've worked on little master 3 a bit. Mostly in the way of revising the script and finishing my text inserter/dumper that I coded a couple years back. I'm excited to get things rolling again! Visitors may notice a change in general page format for the site. I haven't decided if I really want to do it yet... but if you're watching- it may happen soon. Take care and enjoy!!

A big HEY goes out to all who happen upon this site! It's been a good week. I'm visiting some friends right now and I've done a little work on LM3.
I've viewed some of the progress on SBF3 and it's lookin good. I hope Spatch can get it finished soon. SBF3 is a large change to the original story reducing Returners to a group of people who love the Subway sandwich. There are many, many other plot changes... but I'll let Spatch tell you later. Spatch has been working on this patch for a little over 2 years now. Hopefully he will release a finished version soon, eh?

It has been totally forever since I've updated this. Sorry to everyone! The news logon hasn't worked for about a year and now it suddenly decided to start working again. ;) Fetch. Anyway- I've got until July before I can really start finishing up the translation on Little Master 3. I recently purchased a good copy of the original SFC game.
There are many things that need to be updated... I've had a lot of time to think about how I will finish the game over the last year and a half. I believe I may need to re-insert all translated text and graphics- basically re-working the entire game. But this will solve problems I've had with glitches since mistakes were made when I originally inserted the text.
Thanks to everyone who has sent me e-mails encouraging me to contine work on LM3. DONT WORRY! I have every intention of finishing what I've started. So I hope everyone will be happy with this news for now... I'll try to keep everyone updated. See y'all in July!!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back. I'm here bored out of my mind on a Friday night- So I decided to work on Little Master. I am in the process of re-organizing all of the text within the ROM. I was able to create more space with the help of 'Bongo a while back- but I started it off all wrong and right now I am regretting what I've done to the compression table because I ran out of room far too quickly. What I need now is to figure out the compression table again and go about re-inserting the entire amount of text I have into the game so far >_<. If anyone has any suggestions, encouragements, etc.- post them on the forum. Thanks. I'll be re-ordering the text now.. please feel free to distract me- as I have to force myself to work on this.(This is gonna be a lot of work.) ='(

Here we go..

Hey all! I'm home from work sick today so I thought it the perfect opportunity to update on the LM3 and Screwball Fantasy. I haven't worked on LM3 in a few weeks and I'm pretty sure Spatch is feelin the same bit of laziness as me.(We do work at the same place.) Now that the holiday rush is almost settling down.. I may hae more time to relax.. hopefully. And during said relaxation I may find time to work on a few things around here. Just so you know- LM3 is goin good- I just need some more time to work out a few bugs and go over some of the new dialog. Eien Ni Hen hasn't been contacting me much lately- but it can be expected since he is a busy guy. Spatch has made small ammounts of progress on Screwball Fantasy and in just a few minutes I'm gonna post some long awaited screenshots of some of our work. Well.. talk to ya in a few..(This was actually yesterday.. FLIP! I still didn't get the screenshots from Spatch!!)

Check it out!

There is new info posted in both the Little Master and Screwball Fantasy sections. There will be new screenshots posted in Screwball Fantasy's section very soon! We promise! Sorry about my little rant before and by the way- It wasnt a lot of people whining. ;) Just two.. repeatedly. Anyways- sorry for the silence around here. Spatch and I will be working hard to keep you informed of our progress.

A little help for the complainers!

Hey all you psychos e-mailin me and tellin me I have HUGE bugs in the translation when I don't! Hosers.. sheesh- it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that these bugs appear in BOTH the patched and unpatched versions of Little Master! Yet-!! the problem only occurs when you download a version of Zsnes HIGHER than 1.30b. Hmm.. perhaps someone should tell the coders of the great emulators Zsnes and Snes9x that about the time when they added support for playin' such games as Star Ocean, Street Fighter 2: Alpha, and Far East of Eden: Zero- that it broke our Little Master!!!.. an alternative to this is to just break down and download Zsnes1.30b for the time being and stop whining to me! :) Any complements, encouragements, etc. are encouraged however.

Hey..

Hmm I after a long time i actually got some work done on it. Due to my busy work schedule didn't have time to do anything. Now that I've actually got all of my editing tools at my work, I'm just gonna work on it there and email the patches to my personal email at home so i can post almost every night. (remember key word is almost meaning i'm not dead tired when coming home from work) but i'm gonna work on it some more at work and when i get home i'll go ahead and send the file to dackr and he'll post it. i'll also have some nice screenshots in there instead of saying "hey this is cool play it" well that's what dackr said. lol. anyway i'll come out with something soon i'm not dead over here.

Dackr on Nov 29: ooooops.. I think I'll make that page.. er.. tomorrow.. HEY!- I'm lazy!

LM3 Dictionary Compression Routines Added!!
Posted October 15, 2002 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
Just a very quick update: I recently teamed up with Bongo' of Stealth Translations to add Dictionary Compression into Little Master 3. Now that this function is implemented- I will have the room to clarify the current translation and add details that there was previously no room to add!! This is great news- and we hope you'll stay tuned for more exciting updates on the LM3 project!! I may give more details when I get home from work. ;)

Doraemon 4 Screenshots!

Here are a few things I've done with Doraemon 4 while I am frustrated with LM3:

Ok.. have a good day!! Please note that some of the graphics will remain the same as the patch released by Sgt. Bowhack. I want to perfect his release- not take all the credit for his translation, got it?!

Doreamon 4 update?
Posted September 25, 2002 by: Dackr - View/Leave Comment
You may be asking yourselves why I would be updating a seemingly dead project.. The reason is- I was looking through the release by Sgt. Bowhack and I realised that even their translation could be greatly perfected- for example- they hadn't even found the pointers to the configuration menu. Which means the configuration menu graphics were showing up in the password screen. Yikes! Not pretty!! Since I have found the pointers and I do have a version of my own that fixes this- I would like to add on to their translation. I WILL fix all of their mistakes. Plus- the grammatical and basic feel of their translation could use a revision!! I will take it upon myself to look at some of the original text and fix the mistakes they have made. I really want to fix their mistakes because it pains me to see the once unique character traits in the game become mixed together in a fashion that it really seems they speak without feeling! Once again- I will fix this and all other untranslated items and then release a patch. I will probably want their permission first, right? =D Maybe.. heheh.. Keep it tuned for even more exciting updates!!!

At times it seems a little buggy..

Alright! I was playing through Little Master 3 and I noticed a couple things.. If you have recently updated your Zsnes then the game has a glitch! Every time at the start of the Heroes turn- the screen becomes discolored. Red, in fact. This is NOT a bug from the translation!! This is actually a glitch from the latest updates of Zsnes. If you use a earlier version of the emulator- everything should play normally.
Also- I was browsing the SNES ROM translations at Whirlpool and something Spinner 8 said about our translation caught my eye:

"First of all, yes, these guys ripped off Musashi's font from Gaijin's patch. Hell, if I had available a font that was that cool, I'd use it too. Still, a little more recognition, or maybe permission, would be nice. Aside from the font, the translation is completely original."

In response, I would like to clear up a few things.. Yes, the FONT is from Gaijin's patch. It does have acouple changes- but credit needs to be given to the deserving. I really tried to contact Musashi from the begining to obtain permission- but I cant find the email on Gaijin's site and I don't know how to contact him. If anyone knows how to contact Musashi- please email me!! And once again, Thanks goes out to Musashi!!!
-----------------
Another bit of update: I recently recieved an email from EienNiHen and in it he told me a little about the translation progress!!

"..I'm up to the end of Scenario 34, about half way through the character descriptions (which are quite long), and done with the terrain descriptions. I'm glad you reminded me; I'll be sending the terrain descriptions and some of the dialogue to you once I proof it."

I do realize at this point- the progress indicators for LM3 may be a little over exagerated. Here is the estimated overall progress: 70%
Ok.. that should about do it for updates- Have a super day!!
